I BELIEVED IN THE FORCE

When I was young, I believed in The Force
Heard my young heart beat with The Force
But the howling winds of winter
Come and changed my course
I can find no peace in The Force

I sat before that screen of stars
That opened up to my backyard
Electric carousel of snow
And all the small lights filled my soul

CHORUS

And painters painted Rockwell scenes
Of neverheards and neverseens
The never cried cause it’s a sin
The never pass this way again

CHORUS

You made me shed my skin to play
My colored dreams just fade to gray
My crown of pens and paper trays
And me too old to run away

When I was young, I believed in The Force
Heard my young heart beat with The Force
But the howling winds of winter
Come and changed my course
I can find no peace in The Force
